A pack of eight poems that use movement words as a warm-up in a PE lesson.
They may also be used as an example within English class.
They act as a cross-curricular link between PE and English.
These poems use movement within PE to motivate the language used within English class.

3 PE Games for Movement and Language

The first game follows the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, this game focuses on target throwing and dodging. It amazed me how well the students adapted to taking on different roles, really understanding the tasks they must complete to earn treasure.
The second game is called ‘Forbidden Forest’ students showed Kindness by saving each other from the monsters in the forest.
The third treat for you is less of a game, and more of a surprise. I’ll give you a clue…. GYMNASTICS.

This pack aims to provide teachers with a unit of Athletics, differentiated to allow application to a variety of grades within Primary PE.
Learning outcomes, movement words, themes and story focuses as well as specific activities will be highlighted. Activities will have proposed learning objectives and success criteria.
Links to classroom activities in English and Mathematics are identified.
The activities either offer an experience which immerse students in to learning, or offers an activity which consolidates learning.
