Movement Poems

A pack of eight poems which use movement words.

These poems may be used as a warm up in a PE lesson.

They may also be used as an example within English class.

They act as a cross-curricular link between PE and English.

These poems either use movement within PE to motivate the language used within English class,

OR

Use the language and emotions learned in English class to help determine the types of movement which will be used in a PE lesson.

This pack is the perfect example of how movement and language can work hand in hand to motivate learning.

3 PE Games for Movement and Language

The first game follows the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, this game focuses on target throwing and dodging. It amazed me how well the students adapted to taking on different roles, really understanding the tasks they must complete to earn treasure.

The second game is called ‘Forbidden Forest’ students showed Kindness by saving each other from the monsters in the forest.

The third treat for you is less of a game, more of a surprise. I’ll give you a clue…. GYMNASTICS.
